Una giornata di lavoro da SEYF

Written by

How does a classic day at SEYF headquarters work? Generally, we start with a coffee ...

SEYF’s office is located near the center of the city and only 15 minutes by bike from our home. We have a cozy and beautiful office and the kitchen is always full with food that our colleagues bring almost everyday. We even have our own space where we can do our work.

On a normal week we go to the office everyday, except from the days when we go on visit to the refugees’ centers so to have our task there. We usually start the morning like real Italians, having a coffee while we chat about the news of the day. After this moment that help us wake up and focus, we organize our tasks and start working. The work that we do changes every week and even everyday, depending on the needs of the organization.

On our very first weeks we got to understand the way the organization works, the different sides of it and who is in charge of each articulation. We also got deep on the subject of the Erasmus Plus projects. We understood how it works as we checked every part of it together with our mentors and flat mates (as they are also part of another EVS/ESC project here in Lecce). Later on, this allowed us to create our own Erasmus Plus project, based on the needs of young LGBTQ+ people who are being exposed everyday to hate messages. We want to help breaking the prejudices that are still associated with LGBTQ+ as they are still hurting queer people, especially young people with low opportunities.
We experienced once again the long journey of creating an Erasmus Plus project and we supported SEYF in presenting a proposal based on our idea.

This knowledge that we learned could be very helpful for the future, as we are now more confident with the Erasmus+ Programme. This allow us to design a new project at any time we see the need in the society that surround us.
