Periplus is a project of Partnership Building Activity that has been realized in the frame of the Youth in Action Programme – Act. 4.3. Periplus comes from the Latinization of an ancient Greek word, "περίπλους" (periplous) that literally means circumnavigation and exploration and it indicated a manuscript document that listed, in order, the ports and coastal landmarks.
That's what we created: a story of the young side of Europe through the construction of reliable partnership of European organizations; a tale that told about all the countries and their respective youth realities, a novel about the work in the youth field and the instruments at disposal of the youth for increasing occupational opportunities.
Periplus created a new concept of partnership based on mutual respect, as a start-up of a new conception of the youth work, in the frame of cooperation and in perspective of a shared networking.
Periplus investigated the world of youth and youth work in order to stimulate the creation of new projects within the Youth in Action Programme, through the analysis of the most appropriate actions to the different realities and situations.
Periplus, as a Partnership Building Activity, explored the possibility to create a strong partnership through non-formal activities that stimulated a confident climate and will created a strong mood for best practices and strong (human, cultural and professional) relations.
Periplus, applied by the Italian SEYF, was the project of 6 countries from the South of Europe: Bulgaria, France, Italy,Malta, Romania and Spain.
Each partner contributed with the participation of 3 people in order to re-create the ideal setting for stimulating the dialogue amongst the different part of the youth system: youth workers, representative of youth organizations and young member of the organizations. The total number of participants was 19.
Periplus was hosted in Caprarica di Lecce (Italy), a beautiful village of the Peninsula of Salento, at the crossroad of the Mediterranean, as a bridge between among 3 continents and it took place from 23 to 28 october 2012.
Periplus è un progetto di Attività di costituzione di Partnership realizzato nell'ambito del programma di Gioventù in Azione (azione 4.3) e cofinanziato dall'agenzia Nazionale per i Giovani. La parola 'Periplus' deriva da una latinizzazione dell'antica parola greca "περίπλους" (periplous) che letteralmente traduce circumnavigazione ed esplorazione e indicava un antico diario di viaggio che raccontava le rotte tracciate e i porti e le coste visitate.
Questo abbiamo creato: una storia della parte più giovane dell'Europa attraverso la costruzione di un partenariato affidabile di organizzazioni Europee; un racconto che narra di ciascuna delle realtà giovani dei paesi d'Europa, una narrazione avvincente del lavoro giovanile e degli strumenti a disposizione dei giovani.
Periplus ha riformulato un nuovo, innovativo modello di partnership basato sull'orizzontalità e sul mutuo, come start-up di una nuova concezione del lavoro giovanile, basato sulla cooperazione e il lavoro in rete.
Periplus ha investigato il mondo dei giovani e dei lavoratori giovanili, creando nuovi progetti per il biennio 2013-14, modellati sulle nuove esigenze dei ragazzi, attraverso workshop di team-building, pianificazione e progettazione basati sull'apprendimento non formale e sull'educazione outdoor.
Periplus, capitanata da SEYF, è stato il progetto di 6 organizzazioni provenienti da 6 paesi del Sud Europa: Bulgaria, Francia, Italia, Malta, Romania e Spagna.
Ogni partner ha portato in dote 3 partecipanti: un lavoratore giovanile, un rappresentante/delegato dell'organizzazione di provenienza e un giovane volontario, così da ricreare e stimolare il dialogo strutturato tra le parti sociali.
Periplus è stato ospitato nella cornice eccezionale di Caprarica di Lecce, città dell'olio e bellissimo borgo nel Salento dal 23 al 28 ottobre 2012.
