Description of the Course:

It’s Okay to feel stressful... Life is full of ups and downs so if you’re trying to understand what’s going on, it is time to find out more about how to handle stress and avoid burnout. If you are more mindful about how you feel and how to recognise the symptoms of stress and burnout – you’ll help yourself and others too.

During the training course we will discover what is really stress and that stress is nothing to be ashamed of; it is not a sign that someone is weak but it is a condition that we can all suffer from, at any time, for all sorts of different reasons (Suresh and Coyne - 2013). 

We will also explore the difference between stress and burnout and what leads to the burnout syndrome.

Just to have an idea, a prolonged and intense stress that causes a psychophysical and emotional discomfort could get a lead to the burnout syndrome.  This psychological condition is often associated with demotivation, inner emptying, disinterestedness and ineffectiveness which it reduces productivity in performances, or affect person on cognitive, emotional, behavioural or somatic areas

The aim of the course is to allow partecipansparticipants to recognize their difficulty in managing stress and to find new effective strategies to deal with.

The approach is based on the resolving one's own difficulties and on the effectiveness of an operative strategy that allows one to create one's their own ways of acting in the how to face of difficulties.

Moreover, the training topics will be developed on participants’ experiences, and on real issues and practical cases.

 

Competencies acquired by the participants:

- Understand the causes and effects of stress

- Managing short and long-term stress

- Building stress resilience for burnout prevention

- To encourage the recognition and management of the Burnout Syndrome

- To understand the main causes of the syndrome

- Improve productivity at work

- Dealing with crisis affecting health

- Understand the importance of taking charge of one’s life

- Provide the participants with practical tools for dealing with stress

 

Target Group:

Anyone who, at some point in their professional career, is faced with stress and burnout prevention, for themselves or for other people: Managers, Supervisors, School Principals, teachers, youth workers and other people in leadership positions.

 

Course Language:

English – All workshops, handouts and course material will be in English. Upon request we can deliver the course also in Italian, having a minimum of 5 participants.

 

Venue:

Ostello Novello, piazza Regina Margherita n°12, Novoli (Lecce), Italy

 

Recognition/certification of participation:

On completion of the course a certificate of attendance covering the whole programme including time input will be issued by SEYF.

 

Applications

To provide a more personal experience, group size will be kept at a maximum of 20 participants. Therefore, the first 15 paying applicants will be accepted for the course.

Cancellation policy: Full refund less a Eur20 administration fee will be given if a booking is cancelled up to five days before the start of the course. If applicants need to cancel within three days of the start of the course 75% refund will be given.
